Welcome to the Den, come on in and grab a controller
May 17th 2008 09:38
Hey all...Welcome to The Wolf's Den,come on in and grab one of the controllers I have lying around here some place, go grab a snack and a drink while you are at it because you want to get comfortable.
Just so you all know this Wolf is a gamer...a full fledged controller all but merged with my hands gamer, 9 out of 10 when the game tells me to hit a button, or I know to do something I need to hit a button, I'm not even looking at the controller, my instincts combined with a mental map of each controller in my head tells me the location of the button I need to hit. Sadly, this has been known to sometimes work against me if I am playing a game for a while and then play a different yet similar game (for example oh let's say I rent the new TNA game when it comes out, play nothing but that for a week and then try playing Smackdown! VS Raw 2007) in cases like this my mental map of the controller may still be locked in for TNA, and as such I may try to run in SVR 2007 by using the wrong command.
Enough about me, let's get to what you can expect when you enter the Den...this blog is going to be about video/computer games mostly...I'd say about 99% of the content will be SOMETHING to do with video/computer games, If I hear a really cool song or something I'll probably give a quick shout about it, but pretty much if you come to the Den, it's going to be about games.
It should also be noted that most of the stuff will be about games that have been out for some time as that is really all my budget will allow me to get, now that is not to say if some cool game company (I'm looking right at you guys at Maxis) drops me a freebie or I get a just released game for my B-Day or Christmas I won't review it...but mostly unless you can find it for about $20.00 it will have to wait until I can rent it for consoles or a demo comes out for PC, or the price drops.
For console games the Den is equipped with a PS2, a Nintendo Gamecube, a PSP and a Gameboy Advance SP.
So, grab that free controller there and push the start button and let's get going. As they say on X Play
It's Game Time!
