Greetings From Pittsburgh (Saving TSO and other things)
May 26th 2008 14:41
Before we get started with the gaming business at hand let me send a quick shout out to the Champions of the Majeski Invitational Gold Tournament and Open Horseshoe Tournament, sadly I was among neither group, but oh well, maybe next time
Also...Happy Birthday to me..And Happy Memorial Day to you
Okay, that handles the non gaming stuff, so lets get to what you came here to hear about...Video and computer games.
Tried the Wii this weekend while I am up in Pittsburgh, it may not have the graphic capabilities of the PS3 or the Xbox 360, but from what I have played it certainly has them both beat on Innovation (And to be honest, you ever hear of a shooting over a Wii or one of them melting down...didn’t think so). I tried Wii Sports, Guitar Hero 3 and Dancing with the Stars...Found GH3 and DWTS to be a little hard (maybe that’s cause I played them for the first time) but I HIGHLY recommend Wii Sports as a good pick up and play game.
On to other topics...well just one, and it is the main one for this post.
As most of you who follow EA Games News know an announcement has been posted that on August 1st of this year Electronic Arts will be shutting down EA Land (AKA The Sims Online), what few of you may be aware of is the fact that a group of players from this game are banding together even as we speak to stop the game from closing and as a result preserve the friendships they have made in it. Yours truly, despite having played the game for only a few months has joined up with this band of players, and as such, feels that it is my duty to inform you all of it and get you to join as well.
We at www.playercampaigns.com have banded together, to stop MMORPGs from closing down, as I have just stated we are currently working on saving EA Land. As it states on the site this is a situation that all online gamers face, either now or in the future. So on that note I ask you to join us in trying to save The Sims Online from closing...for remember
We are trying to save EA Land Today...we may be trying to save your favorite MMORPG Tomorrow.
